Spell checking not working

Spell check isn't working for me. I'm assuming it is supposed to underline misspelled words as I type, right? It isn't doing so and it allows me to send random nonsense without prompting me or anything.

I'm on Kildclient 3.2 on Xubuntu 18.04.1. Firefox spellcheck is working (as I'm seeing while posting this). And, in my world configuration, I have "Spell check typed text" checked with "en_US" selected in the Language.

Can you suggest further troubleshooting please?

Spell checking only works with the multi-line input bar. Is that what you're using?
